The Niwaki GR Pro are Niwaki's best selling secateurs for a reason. These secateurs are tough and robust with hard wearing carbon steel, but are also well-balanced, precise and ergonomic.

Drop forged and hand finished in Sanjo, Japan, The GR Pro Secateurs combine refined craftsmanship and day-to-day usability. KA70 carbon steel holds an impressively sharp edge, the chunky catch at the bottom and the strong spring gives a  functional feel.

The yellow grips are super handy for showing up when you’ve left them somewhere in the garden - but you can also remove the yellow grips for a more traditional look.

These secateurs are in invaluable garden tool you won't want to be without! Perfect for professionals or gardeners or all levels, or anyone who works their tools hard and need quality and precision in daily use.

To keep them functioning at their best, clean with Crean Mate and Camellia oil, and sharpen every few weeks.

CARING FOR YOUR TOOLS

Most of Niwaki's sharp tools are crafted from carbon steel. To keep your tools in good condition and ensure they last for many years of use, they require some simple but regular maintenance. Here are some usage & care tips, to help you get the most out of your tools...

Usage:

  • Japanese steel is hard and sharp. To avoid chips and preserve the steel edge, do not cut wire, metal, stone, or plastic.
  • Do not twist or apply uneven pressure
  • It’s better to cut diagonally across branches (not straight across), so you cut along the fibres
  • For heavier cuts, make sure you’re using the base of the blades (not the tips)

Care:

  • Remove leaf resin, rust and gunk with a Crean Mate and water
  • Dry, wipe over with Camellia Oil and store in a dry place
  • Sharpen when needed (secateurs can be sharpened every couple of weeks, shears & topiary clippers after every use to see an incredible difference).
