The Ultra Lite Planting Spade has been specially crafted for pre-cultivated soft soils. With a thinner blade & the shaft parallel to the rounded mouthed, this lightweight spade is perfect for fast, accurate planting work. The lightweight design makes it a great choice for women, or anyone who may need a lighter tool. The Ultra Light Planting Spade weighs in at only a little over 1.9kg; compared to your average spade, which usually weighs between 2.3kg and 3.3kg.
The handle of this Timbersaws spade has an oval grip, over-moulded with a vulcanized thermoplastic rubber for comfort and durability. The unique over-mould substance won't break down with sweat, salt air, or U.V and is non-slip in wet or dry conditions. The handle yoke is made from nylon impregnated with rubber, designed to absorb shock and help eliminate wrist, hand and elbow trauma.
Made with Timbersaws high tensile steel, these are "old fashioned" quality - built to last! Each Timbersaws tool is made right here in New Zealand by Levin Sawmakers.
